Busy Day

0705: Mac Awake (Ugh)

0815: Mitchell Awake (Better)

0815-1030: Play in the house and get ready for the day!

1030: Leave for swimclass at the YMCA.  After swimming for 10 minutes in the pool, Mand M went to their swim class which was taught by a sub teacher named Lindsey…she did a good job.  Mom and Dad were pleased with her.  The boys are making progress but need more time in the pool other than the once a week swim class.

1200: Swim class is over and it is off to Lucy’s first birthday. Lucy is the sister of James who is in School with Mac and Mitchell.  James is ~four.  Happy Birthday Lucy.  Mac had a good time with his friends from school and Mitchell pretty much played by himself as he does…

1500: Party over and it was off to Lowes for more supplies for the yard work.  Mitchell fell asleep in the car, but Mac went into the store with Daddy and helped get the supplies.  Mac also picked out two flowers – one for Mitchell (Dahlia) and one for himself (Zinia).  With supplies in the car, it was off to the house to begin working in the yard once again.  Mac and Mitchell were great helpers.  Daddy forgot a few pipes at the store, so it was off to the local hardware store which provided the boys with Free popcorn.  Mitchell supplied the poo poo.  Stinky diaper boy. Really need to accelerate that potty training!  With a stinky diaper getting mushed in the car, it was off to….you guessed it…McDonalds to pick up dinner once again….As we drove away from the hardware store, Mitchell screamed out…’’I’m not buckled! I’m not buckled”.  Way to go Mitchell!!!  Once buckled in and with McDonalds in hand, it was back to the house.

1930:  It was back into the yard after eating the scrumptious quarter pounders, fries, Mcnuggets, etc.  The boys were really great helping Daddy in the yard.  Daddy is as happy as can be (with a few, ‘NO – DON’T DO THAT’s”) having the boys help!  Once again, Mitchell was off to bath and bed at 2030, but Mac stayed out helping (truthfully) until about 2200.  Wow.  He was trying to fill a bucket with dirt that needed to be moved…about 10% of the dirt made it into the bucket.  That’s ok…Daddy loved having him out there!

2200: Mac was off to bed with Mommy while Daddy continued to work…

Good Night Boys!

0730-0900: Today, Daddy took the day off to take the boys to school!  Yay!  It was up at 0730 and off to the races to get ready for school.   With Mitchell starting to use the potty in the morning now, and with the incredibly ‘fast’ (ugh) pace that the boys eat their breakfast, it was a struggle to get the boys fed, dressed, bed made, faces washed, teeth brushed and in the car by 0830.  Of course, Daddy lost the struggle and had the boys in the car at 0842 to get them to school before 0900.  Traffic was accommodating, and the boys were right on time.  Mac stated as he arrived at school that he wanted to walk Mitchell to his classroom.  Once in the school, Mitchell’s teacher took Mitchell by the hand, and Mac took the other hand and did walk Mitchell to his class….Brothers for life!

(late entry):0730: Mitchell was rolling around ready to get up when Daddy came in to get him up.  After a few minutes of stretching in bed, Mitchell went and pee’d in the potty and popped one of the bubbles in the toilet with his finger…way to go Mitchell:0

0900-1200: School for Mitchell!

1200-1320:  Daddy, after being stuck in traffic due to an accident, picked Mitchell up from school  He had plenty of friends to keep him happy till Daddy arrived.  Daddy asked Mitchell what he wanted for lunch and he promptly responded “Ruby Tuesdays!”  So what do you want at Ruby Tuesdays, asked Daddy…”Salad Bar” responded Junk Food Mitchell!  Ok, after Daddy picked himself up off the floor, it was off to…you guessed it…Ruby Tuesdays and a salad bar.  Croutons, cheese and sunflower seeds were the prime movers on the salad plate.  Mitchell also ate some Mozzarella sticks and a very little bit of chicken tenders.

1320-1500: Home for playtime.  Mitchell played and Daddy worked on the kid’s computer.  Daddy played trains with Mitchell for a little bit; but then it was off to pick up Mac.

1515-1615: Picked up Mac at school.  He was a bit lethargic.  Not very excited to see Daddy or Mitchell.  He said he had a good day, but didn’t say much else.  Finally, while driving home, the familiar request came:  ‘Daddy, Can we drive around the streets?’  Mac likes to just drive around the streets in town.  He likes to see the neighborhoods and see the different street names.  Finally, when Mitchell could stand it no longer, it was off to the house. 

1615-1730: The boys were home and playing in the house.  Daddy had finally brought the boys’ new computer down to the family room..though it still isn’t quite ready.  The boys just played in the house until Mommy got home.

1730-bedtime:  Mac’s bed time was really late…Daddy had to work in the yard fixing the drainage, and Mac wanted to help.  The boys had to eat, during this time, so Mommy took the boys to McDonalds for happy meals.  When they returned, they ate with Daddy on the deck.  After eating it was back to work.  Mac and Mitchell both helped; though, that turned into more messing around than helping.  Mitchell went to take his bath with Mommy around 2015 and Mac stayed and helped Daddy until around 2130.  What great helpers!

Today, this post only covers some of the boys’ day.  Heather has not been shown how to post yet on the site. 

0730: Mac woke up.  Heather went into Mac’s room followed by Daddy who was ready to go to work.  It was then time to go wake up Mitchell.  The boys went downstairs to walk Daddy to the door as went to work.  They were in a good mood today as Daddy left. 

1515-1645: Mommy picked up Mac from school today as a surprise!  Mac loves it when Mommy surprises him at school.  From there, Mac and Mommy went to Harris Teeter to pick out more food for Mac’s lunches at school.  He picked cherries, grapes and blueberries, turkey and American cheese!  Mac eats so well!  After getting ice for drinks at T-ball, it was off to home to see Mitchell!  Mitchell was awake when they got home…he only had a 45 minute nap!

1645-1655:  Daddy came home and all rushed to get into the car to go to T-ball!  The boys were not making it easy by dawdling and not listening to Mommy…the turds!

1705: It was T-ball time…A good time was had by all…read the T-ball post at: T-Ball 16 June 2008

2015-2045:  Back home for piano practice for Mac…He did great!  He improved on Scarborough Fair and did his other pieces and exercises really well!  Good job, buddy!  Mitchell played with trains while Mac practiced…Mommy cleaned fruit and prepared Mac’s lunch.  Mac then inspected to make sure it passed his high standards.

2045: It’s time for bath and bedtime!  Mitchell continues to make progress in his potty training and used the potty before bath! 

2115: Mac read a book to Mitchell.  It was a Thomas book that had ‘LIFT THE FLAPS’.  Mac would read the writing and tell Mitchell to lift the flaps.  What great brothers!

2137: Bedtime!  They were asleep in no time!  Sleep well boys!

0700-0730: Mac and Mitchell slept a long time last night.  They both slept 12 plus hours!  Wow.  I expected Mac to wake up at 0600, but he didn’t get up until 0705.  Mitchell awoke at 0730, even though Mac walked into his room at 0710.  Mac stayed in Daddy’s room until Daddy decided to get out of bed at 0720.  Once both boys were awake, they both used the potty. …that’s right…Mitchell is doing so much better using the potty!  He still doesn’t use it on his own…he needs to be reminded. 

0730-0838: After getting Mitchell dressed and checking to make sure his booboo from yesterday wasn’t still bothering him, Daddy prepared chocolate chip pancakes for him.  He didn’t eat much, however.  Mac ate chocolate chip muffins for breakfast and had flavored water. After breakfast, it was potty time again, brushing of the tooths, and shoe time.  Daddy showed Mac his lunch box (today is Mac’s first day of Extended Day, which means he starts bringing his lunch to school!).  He had turkey and cheese sandwich, crackers, strawberries and flavored water .  Finally it was off to school!

0850:  Mitchell and Mac were dropped off for school and played on the playground to start their day!  Daddy cried like a girl and went to Lowes till it was time to pick up Mitchell!

1140:  Mitchell’s first day of school is over!  He came out to the car in a great mood!  He said he played and learned about cards (?) from his teacher and met new friends (Beckett is the only name he remembered).  Now it was off to see mommy for lunch at the hospital!

1210:  Mitchell and Daddy arrived at the hospital to eat lunch with Mommy.  Mommy also did a quick exam of Mitchell’s booboo and found that there was nothing wrong.  Mitchell didn’t hurt anymore.  12 hours sleep cures a lot!  Off to Subway in the hospital for lunch.  Mitchell had a ham, cheese and bacon sandwich.  He ate almost all of it!  He also had cookies (chocolate chip), but saved them for the ride home. 

 

1300: Time to let Mommy get back to work and drive home.  One cookie and a quick trip through the tunnel and Mitchell and Daddy were home to watch Thomas (Carnival Capers) and watch Roma finish cleaning the house.  Now it was time to play and wait till it was time to pick up Mac!

1515: Pick up Mac at school.  Mac finished his first Extended Day and had a great time.  He worked on Map 6 which is South America.  Mac traces the continent, then colors in the countries.  He also learned the flags of the countries.  Daddy quizzed him at dinner and Mac knew many of them by sight.  Way to go kid.

1515-1615: The drive home included a jaunt through the neighborhoods as well as a stop at 7-11 for slurpees and a snack.  Mac likes to go through the neighborhoods and see the different streets.  He is really fascinated by the different names of the streets and likes to drive around the city.  It’s his map phase.  Finally, Mitchell and Daddy cried uncle, and we all drove home to meet Mommy as she came home from work. 

1730-1930: Once home it was off to pick up the Sienna which was at the shop and then dinner at Olive Garden.  The boys had salad, grated cheese, and spaghetti with meatballs.  Of course, the boys sucked the spaghetti noodles while it was dangling from their mouths!  It was another late night for the boys.  It was time to go home, take a bath and go to bed!

2100: bedtime!  Good night boys!
